What I really liked was the dynamic lecture from Karmen with many practical examples, tips and suggestions, how to make a good speech. Altogether it was a varied trainings-programme and each trainer was an enriching experience. In Liljanas lecture I realized that I am in a way have an enterpreneurship personality. We got to know very interesting examples from Finland. The mutual exchange of experiences concerning learning activities, the knowledge about good marketing and also that one should take the time for this, were the perfect finishing touch.
But the most important for me was the good learning atmosphere in the group, it was wonderful to work together with such experienced, motivated and innovative people.
Trainers and learning materials, cooperation between participants and organisation of training were great inspiration for my further work. During my stay in Linz I received a lot of tips and ideas which will be useful not only in my working place and working with the unemployed, but also in other work areas and in my private life. Prepared learning materials will be fruitful resource for me also in future.
It was really great to meet you all with our different backgrounds and cultures. I believe it will help to find more ways for our own library in the future, because there is a great difference in that we are able to offer our customers compared to Finland. The communication training and learning tips will help to present ourselves better and therefore get higher self-esteem. I enjoyed working with the group and the interchange of views with the other members of this seminar.
Nice and good atmosphere for learning. Trainers were well prepared and participants were interested to participate. Relevant content. The structure of the program was well prepared with different activities. I think some session need much more interactivity and dynamic activities.
Thanks to the organizers and trainers for very good training. For me presentations and meeting are very important basis for work in Library. I got new ideas and challenges, new contacts, more focus about work between library and unemployment. I am very proud that I have a chance to improve my English language skills.
All lecturers are excellent. I have gained new skills of learning and brain methods, concepts and models. New information about how to help unemployed people in our library, how to make good collaboration material learned with other institutions in the field of labour market. Good lecture and good experience, style, intellectual in the field of entrepreneurship. Teachers’ positive, practical activities. Thank you.
It has been great to meet different people and see that we can find ways to communicate even where there are language barriers.
Comparing our experiences has been really interesting and everyone has been so supportive and understanding. The tour to the Wissensturm library was also very inspiring. I feel like this training is a great start for many good things to come.
We received a very warm welcome on Sunday evening from Astrid and Helene. The work began on Monday morning when Simona introduced and Lilijana delivered the opening presentation.
The ice breaker was a wonderful way of getting to know our fellow participants from the beginning we became a team working together, share our experiences, celebrating our successes and gaining inspiration from our different practices, approaches to our work.
The presenters were inspirational, though provoking and entertaining. We were encouraged as a group to actively participate and we did with enthusiasm. All participants were respectful listeners which created the right atmosphere for sharing our experiences, ideas and opinions. The week was a very interesting and useful experience in the wonderful setting of the Wissenturm. The hospitality was second to none.
All 5 lecturers were so kind, flexible and gave us interesting ideas and share with us their experience.
I learned more about contents of training and how to make good presentations and to be a good lecturer and public speaker. (Karmen Šemrl)
I am interested in methods of learning and development of brain skills (Helena Hoffmann)
I liked information that was given from Maija Lehtola about the learning methods based on ICT and knowledge for new competences and skills using ICT.
The learning course for new competences and skills for entrepreneurship was very interesting. I learned about new ideas and offers how to help in our library to new entrepreneurs. (Lilijana Pahor)
I am also interested about efficient cooperation with stakeholders in the field of unemployment in the different level. (European, national, regional and local). (Breda Karun)
Thank you for the lecturers and organization!
My visit to Austria, unfortunately began with the cancellation of our flight from Dublin. However, despite a long delay, finding new flights and no sleep I have found my week in Linz to be a wonderful experience. Firstly, we were warmly welcomed to Linz by our host partners. All the partnership countries are all very friendly, eager to share and learn from each other. From the training workshops, I will take many aspects and implement into our libraries, not only as part of this project, but into a structured service which is sustainable. The training has been delivered by a host of very experienced people who are passionate about their working with the unemployed and they have inspired me even more to work more in the area of unemployment and jobseekers. The training methods used were varied from very practical to information session. I cannot wait to begin implementing some of this training in Monaghan libraries. Thanking everyone involved.
The atmosphere was very nice and good. The organizer made all very good. I liked very much Karmens session about: How the adults learn and public speaking because the sessions were very dynamic and interactive. For me all the information was very useful.
Also, I liked very much Lilijana Pahor session because she is also dynamic and can catch attention from the participants and the information was interesting and useful too.
Not at least the session about ICT learning; how the brain successfully work, were very attractive and useful.
I came to the training with no expectations but perhaps I hear something useful. Now, after 5 days I am excited, having met great people and participated in the training, with a good atmosphere in the workshops. Thanks to Astrid, Helena and other colleagues for organization and hospitality. I believe the new skills and ideas will be helpful and useful.
Loved all activities, loved meeting everyone. Made new friends. Great ideas made me think. Learned things about myself. Skills I had which I just took for granted. I like talking to and with people. I like to listen and take time to understand what others are saying. I am not scary person (most of the time). It is okay to set boundaries: others are not allowed to treat me bad. I must not allow them. I must make space and time for myself. It takes 8 seconds to inspire another person. I learned what opportunities are already available in my library. I learned what difficulties people experience when looking for work; low self esteem, lack of opportunities; literacy and ICT. I learned about how humans learn. How to introduce case studies. How to KISS (keep it short and simple). Setting goals. Linz is a lovely city. I hope to come back again. The culture and the food is great.
The training week was a success. It had all the elements for being successful, it was dynamic, interactive, looking into the future, resourceful, focused and much more. But most of all I enjoyed Wissensturm, the hospitality of our hosts. And of course the beautiful city of Linz.
What I got from this training? English skills, positive impression, a great experience, useful knowledge, motivation not just to think (to do it), the perfect environment, friendly people, excellent trainers, lots of practice, knowledge about my personality.
What I had hoped?
- adult learning knowledge
- new ideas for organization (adult learning in my library)
- knowledge for using ICT in learning methods
- how to promote (use) library service for unemployed
- communication and partnership between libraries and other organizations
What I got? Everything above + in addition:
- excellent organization (training)
- professional teachers
- nice town
- good weather
Useful points: new knowledge about rhetoric and public speaking skills, learning methods, entrepreneurships, how to establish efficient cooperation with stakeholders and so on. Gained knowledge I can use in practice – preparing learning. In this seminar I liked interactive methods of teaching, good atmosphere, wonderful teachers. Thanks.
I personally think that this cooperation between libraries is one of the few opportunities to truly learn from your peers from different countries. This is especially important seeing that each cultural background varies from one’s own so that the issues of today can be seen from various points of view.
I thank the organizers for the invitation to this workshop. The combination of workflow and cultural program is wonderful and helps to more productivity.
Personally, the most useful information for me were the training methods and particularly the foreign language learning.
I had the opportunity to tour one of the most beautiful cities in Austria and to feel its cultural and historical appearance.
Thanks and hope to still be useful meetings!
